Borrowed Sweater

Lucas Zhan is American guy with Mexican origins. His mother is Mexican and his father is German. It is an interesting family with mixed cultural traditions. Mostly they eat chilly food with good German beer. They watch Mexican serials and have German auto. But as for the rest they are totally Americans.

Zhans moved to America when Lucas was four years old. Lucas' father was invited to some company as a good specialist. First two years was alright, but then this company failed and Mr. Zhan became out-of-work. After this case Zhans lived very poor, they had lack of money. It was hard period in his life. Mr. Zhan had to work as janitor that to maintain his family. Mrs. Zhan couldn't work, because she was pregnant. They hardly had money to food. All their neighbors and friends tried to help them as possible. It was a usual thing when Lucas wore clothing of his cousin or some neighbor boy. He felt very embarrassed; especially when he began go to school. Once Lucas went outside wearing a sweater that had been given to his mother by one of his neighbors and when he entered a class room one boy stood up and said that it was the sweater of his elder brother and the whole class roared with laughter. This case spoiled his mood, of course. He had no friends and the most pupils laughed at him. He didn't want to wear borrowed apparel. He was sick. He didn't understand the culture and in addition failed to the right clothes. He couldn't endure such attitude of his class-mates to him anymore. He wanted to live another life with modern and stylish clothes. He thought if they hadn't money to buy new clothes it is possible to sew it. It was a bright idea of seven years old boy. He found at mother's closet some fabric took her sewing machine and sewed a rather suitable shirt, even his mother was very surprised. After one shirt followed by another shirt, trousers, a new skirt for mother and clothes for his little brother. So, seven years old found a decision out of difficult situation.
